RECAP: Virtual Financial Seminar

On Saturday, May 30, 2020, Rho Gamma Omega chapter's #CAP and Building Your Economic Legacy Committees collaborated to provide an engaging virtual financial seminar for teens. Students received a workshop on information including but not limited to budgeting, saving for college and estate planning. Thank you to all who attended.

RECAP: RGO Donates to Residents of Sierra House

On Friday, May 29, 2020, Rho Gamma Omega chapter's Building Your Economic Legacy provided a donation of essentials to Sierra House in East Orange, NJ. Items included industrial strength cleansers, bleach, bathroom accessories and other necessities. The ladies of Rho Gamma Omega chapter are committed to providing assistance to the communities we serve.

Join our Resistance Band Dance Class!

The gyms are closed but we are open! Please join Rho Gamma Omega chapter on Saturday, June 6 @ 10AM for a Zumba-inspired fitness class hosted by Naiesha Brooks of She Pumps Fittness. You will need a resistance band, 3-4 lb hand weights and your computer to join us. Remember, Heart Disease causes 1 in 3 deaths among women - more than all cancers COMBINED. Sororpreneur Spotlight: Arcia Stokes, Stokes Notes, LLC

During the next several weeks, Rho Gamma Omega will be promoting chapter members who own their own businesses. Highlighted will be a variety of services. These fierce Sororpreneurs are at the top of their game. You are encouraged to explore their services and provide support. Arcia Stokes has alot to sing about these days. On January 2, 2020, she became a founding owner of Stokes Notes- a company dedicated to voice, piano and music theory lessons. In addition, the company will focus on collaborations with schools and organizations, promoting community involvement in the arts. RECAP: Movie Night

On Friday, May 22, 2020, Rho Gamma Omega's Target IV Committee hosted a movie night where attendees viewed the documentary, Girls in the Band, which explored the poignant, untold stories of female jazz and big band instrumentalists and their fascinating, groundbreaking journeys from the late 30s to the present day. Join Our Restorative Yoga Class!

Please join Rho Gamma Omega on Saturday, May 23 from 12PM - 1PM for a Mindful Flow Vinyasa Yoga class with Tahnia Hawkins of The Roots Studio (@therootsstudio). As we shelter-in-place, it is important that we still take time to care for ourselves. We will practice deep breathing as well as yoga poses. RECAP: Virtual Walking Challenge

On Saturday, May 16th, Rho Gamma Omega chapter's Women's Healthcare and Wellness Committee hosted a virtual walking challenge where members were asked to walk or engage in some other form of exercise for a minimum of thirty minutes in order to get their bodies moving. Members collectively walked over 100,000 steps. The ladies of Rho Gamma Omega are committed to increasing awareness of the importance of diet and exercise in order to help reduce risk of heart disease. #AKAatHome #NARatHome #RGOatHome

RECAP: Make Money Moves with MoneyFit

On Thursday, April 30, 2020, members of Rho Gamma Omega Chapter and community guests attended Money Fit Live, an interactive live webinar hosted by Todd Christensen. Attendees received strategies for protecting, rebuilding and building credit and tips on understanding FICO and Vantage scores. Webinars can be viewed on the MoneyFit website and on YouTube. Shop Black Challenge Winners!

Rho Gamma Omega chapter's Building Your Economic Legacy committee recently conducted a "Shop Black" challenge, where chapter members and the community were asked to patronize black owned businesses. Numerous entries were submitted, yielding over $3,200.00 in purchases at 40+ black owned businesses during the six week challenge period.
